This module features two methods for analyzing stability problems:
  • Calculating structures based on the deflection theory (equilibrium of the deformed system).

  • Determining buckling eigenmodes with the relevant branching load factors.

With these methods you can analyze all stability problems such as buckling, toppling and lateral torsional buckling in beam, area or solid models.

The buckling eigenmodes of a structure, in particular, can be used to accurately evaluate the stability behavior of that structure. The calculation yields the failure figure and the associated load factor.

The depicted buckling eigenmode can be used to detect a failure of the frame.

The animated buckling eigenmode shows a failure of the honeycomb girder located near the supports.
