3D Steel Frame According to DIN 18800

In the hall frame illustrated above a framework analysis and a stability check are being carried out according to the second-order theory. The check is done according to the "elastic-elastic" and "elastic-plastic" methods using combination specifications in accordance with DIN 18800 and EC3.

Checks According to DIN 18800

The checks according to DIN 18800 and EC3 can be applied to polygonal beam sections and are carried out according to the elastic-elastic method as per section 7.5.2 with the elements 746 to 749 and the elastic-plastic method as per section 7.5.3 with elements 753 and 755 (DIN 18800, Part 1, published November 1990, including amendments).

The checking program makes the necessary internal force combinations and determines the permissible stresses. Optionally, the full-plastic internal forces are determined and the level of plastic utilization is specified.

All of the results can be prepared for display in graphical or table form or as a log.

For the stability check according to the second-order theory, a decisive load case made up of dead load, snow, wind from left and predeformation in one direction with a uniform safety factor of 1.5 was constructed. This was then proven using the special combination without further safety factors.
